Herbert "Hal" Doughty

Herbert "Hal" Doughty Obituary:

Herbert “Hal” Doughty, LTCOL, USAF (ret), 93 of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 11, 2017. Born in Arkansaw, WI, he was the son of Herb and Ruth (Black) Doughty.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Doris (Marsh); his children: Theresa Hill, Maureen (Ray) Koncen, Patrick Doughty, Michael (Tamara) Doughty and Erin Patrice; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by: brothers: Dan (Terry) Doughty, Bernard (Carmen) Doughty, Paul (Bernice) Doughty and Brendan (Karen) Doughty.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Sam and sisters: Merle Daniels and Nathalie Swienton.
Hal served in WWII, the Korean War and one mission in Vietnam. He retired from the US Air Force in 1973 after 30 years of service and moved to Eau Claire. His interests included flying, his membership in the Elks Lodge, water skiing, hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling and Model T’s. He greatly enjoyed his yearly week long Model T road trips with his extended family.

Visitation is at 5:00 P.M. with a service at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue, South Minneapolis, MN 55450.

In lieu of flowers request donations be made to Honor Flight Inc., Attn: Dian Gresse, 175 S. Tuttle Road, Springfield, OH 45505.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.cremationsociety-wi.com.

2017 Tour Update

Latest tour update from Dan:

July 17 08:30; Depart my place, head North to “The Cabin” near Weyerhaeuser WI for lunch and refreshments. Then on to the hotel. D3 hosting happy hour.

July 18 09:00; Head to Cedar Lodge for lunch. (about 8 miles North of Ladysmith) NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR HAPPY HOUR

July 19 09:00; We will picnic at Big Falls Co. Park south of Kenan, Wi. Don’t forget to pack your lunch! Dave and Kim hosting some kind of football related happy hour. Sounds like they want everyone to wear their Vikings or Bears jerseys.

July 20 18:00; Dinner & auction at the hotel.

July 21 08:30; Depart for home, lunch at the Thorpedo, in Thorpe, WI.

I have 25 rooms blocked.

Rates are $84.95 + tax for two queen or one king bed.

They do have some suites for $110.

For reservations call 715-595- 4227 Ask for DOUGHTY 500 block.

Get reservations in early, there are no other hotels near by.

If you are interested in camping there is a campground near by.

There is a restaurant in the hotel and there are others in the area.

Also get your name in soon to host a happy hour before the dates are all filled up. Available dates are:
