The Doughty 500 is headed to Sparta. Hal has officially announced that the 2013 Doughty 500 will be held in Sparta, which bills itself as the “bicycle capital of America” (piss off Portland). I believe that this is the first time that the spectacle that is the Doughty 500 has ever graced this town of 9,541 souls in southwestern Wisconsin.
Other relevant information:
The 2013 tour will start in Monday, July 15th and run through Friday the 19th
The auction will take place on Thursday evening and I assume happy hours will be held daily (or hourly in some cases).
